Deep within the enchanted forests of fairy tales, the animals of this yet untouched part of nature assemble. A whisper on the wind announces that a new protector is to be anointed, for the previous guardian of this glade, a legendary roc, has perished. The troubled spirits of the wild call out for a new keeper, but ignorance and fear subdue all notions of courage and confidence among the gathered.
A lone wolf steps forth. Cast out and ostracized, yet still embers of caring continued to smolder in his heart. Concerned about the state of balance of the forest in which they all live, paw by paw, he comes forth. The spirits overzealous and agitated whisper ever louder into the wolf’s ears in an effort to encourage him. In the center on an icy boulder rest the remains of the deceased guardian and dream. All life in the clearing becomes still, as the wolf finds a macabre crown resting there. The roc’s skull bone, but the wolf knowns was is asked of him. Hesitantly, he takes the white treasure and places it atop his head, wearing it like a mask. Imbued with magic, the remnants of the roc’s soul seep into the wolf’s body. The transformation takes hold of his essence and he sprouts feathers and wings. Thus, the next link in the chain of forest wardens is formed. The former wolf is announced as a new brother to all mythical creatures. The spirits may rest.
