In a video I had come across, an elephant was listening to a piano player. When I saw the many wrinkles surrounding the elephant’s eye during a close up, I imagined all the different things such an animal might see and experience during its lifetime in Africa. Such was the melancholy thought that triggered the creation of this illustration. All the landscapes and animals of Africa dancing on the elephant’s wrinkles, with his partner and their young reflected in the sunset of his eye.
