To be able to better compare my own progress over the many days of daily ink drawing, I wanted to try my hand at illustrating a giraffe again. Even though giraffes are very impressive creatures, I still thought it was lacking in terms of fantasy and so I combined it with a peacock and equipped it with insect-like fairy wings. In my opinion the feather crown of male peacocks in particular ended up matching the giraffe’s horns quite well. Symbolically this creature could be seen as proud and protective, caring, yet retaining a certain tenderness.
