This artwork is one of many paintings from within my Momentary Dreams series, which ended up being heavily influenced by my fascination with Japan and its historical visuals. The core motif is based on a powerful dream I had, in which the dragon’s shape represented a dark looming silhouette which merged with the mountain as if it were merely the dragon’s colossal shadowy wing. During this project I felt a profound melancholy which influenced and altered the path this painting took.
