After several months of inactivity with this series Momentary Dreams, I continued my artistic experimentations through this piece. During this time away from it, I continued work on several other artworks, including many commissions. As part of the creation process for them, I tend to create several sketches, even if I ultimately end up using only one for the commissioned artwork itself. The monkey monk shown here is based on such an alternative sketch, which I modified a bit further for this motif and supplemented with a background. The torii on the lake takes inspiration from the torii at the Itsukushima shrine.
