An idea for a picture I had in my youth, in which I was particularly interested by the potential visual impact of the cross. Before I initially began drawing using ink, I wasn’t sure which medium I could use to realize my vision for this motif with the sun and moon in the background, as light contrasts have a less potent effect when drawn with just pencil. It didn’t turn out perfectly either, but at least the cross and body itself turned out roughly the way I had intended at the time.
